SOUTH Lakeland councillor Pru Jupe is expected to be the Liberal Democrat candidate for the role of Cumbria’s Police and Crime Commissioner.
The 55-year-old barrister, who specialises in child protection law, has been a councillor for Arnside and Beetham since 2007.
Already confirmed as candidates are the former Cumbrian headmaster Richard Rhodes, who has been chosen by the Conservatives, and Patrick Leonard, a director of a Carlisle housing association, who is the declared Labour candidate for new crimefighting role.
The election will be held on November 15.
