A 15-year-old boy is in a 'critical condition' after coming off his bike on Kirkstone Pass.
Police attended a road traffic collision today (Monday) at 1:10pm at Brotherswater and Kirkstone Pass Inn after reports were received of a cyclist coming off his bike. On attendance, a boy from Glenridding was located one mile south of Brotherswater Hotel, with serious head injuries.
Members of the public had stopped to assistant and paramedics and an air ambulance attended.
Doctors and paramedics treated the boy at the scene. He was transported by air ambulance to Royal Preston Hospital where he is in critical condition The road was closed from 1:45 pm to 3:10 pm.
Police would like to thank everyone who stopped to help the boy and appeal for anyone who may have seen anything to contact them at the Roads Policing Unit on 101.
