ELEVEN Dales ‘hotties’, who bared almost all to raise cash for soldiers have launched their Full Monty-style calendar at a special party.
The women, aged between 21 and 30, said the idea came about after watching the English smash-hit film Calendar Girls.
They waited for two warm days in April and May to snap the saucy pictures. The team of models then stripped down to their bras and knickers and posed beside strategically positioned army equipment in Ingleton.
Calendar organiser Eneshia Prescott, of Austwick, said they were all a bit nervous beforehand.
“It went really well,” said Mrs Prescott. “Traffic kept stopping on the A65 to see what we were doing.”
A fundraising meal was hosted in Lancaster on Saturday where the calendar was unveiled for the first time.
“I didn't sleep for about month before it but it went really well,” said Mrs Prescott. “I really enjoyed it. We have had a lot of good feedback already. People have said they think it looks really classy rather than tacky.”
Mrs Prescott, who married a soldier last year, has heard first-hand the horrors of what it is like to fight in a war.
The 27-year-old decided she wanted to find a way to raise money to support heroic servicemen and women.
All the money raised from calendar sales will go to Help for Heroes.
The women have set a target of £26,000 and collected around £1,600 from the launch meal.
Since starting their fundraising mission the women have been hitting the headlines. They appeared on the front page of the popular men's magazine Zoo.
“I think Help for Heroes do an amazing job and without such a charity like this our boys and girls would not get the care that is needed,” added Mrs Prescott.
The calendar will conclude with all the women pictured together for the December page.
