ULVERSTON is gearing up for one of the highlights of the year as the much-loved Lantern Procession comes to town.
The spectacle, which marks the end of Ulverston Charter Festival, and bring hundreds of visitors to the town who line the streets alongside locals.
Ulverstonians have been busy creating lanterns which they will parade through the town as part of four winding rivers of light.
Those taking part should assemble at the Parish Church from 7.15pm, Croftlands Community Centre from 7.15pm, the Auction Mart from 7.30pm and Hillfoot Hotel from 8pm.
The four parades meet at County Square before making their way through the town to Ford Park for a finale of theatre and fireworks.
This year's theme is ‘We’ve Built a Lantern Town’.
