A GROUP of 16 to 18-year-olds is spending three weeks helping firms understand how they use technology. Working with the Sandside-based consumer research company Intersperience, 22 pupils from Dallam School are keeping online diaries and holding discussions about digital topics.

These include looking at professions of the future as well as exploring issues such as data-sharing and privacy.

Explaining the project, Intersperience's Maria Twigge said: “There are two main aims of this research. The first is to understand how young people use digital technology and the second is to understand the opportunities and challenges that wider adoption of digital technology brings.

“We need these young people to help us shape a better enhanced future.”

ICT teacher Jonathan Liver said: “The students are now into week two of the project and are really enjoying considering IT from a business perspective.”

The students who are taking part are being offered vouchers up to the value of £35 and the chance to win an iPad.
