A CHARTERED surveyor in Kendal has won a top title in his profession.

Fergus Russell, 30, has been named New Surveyor of the Year by the Chartered Surveyors 1938 Club.

The club is a support group for newly-qualified Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors' members

It makes him the first rural practice surveyor to achieve the title in 13 years.

Fergus was judged to have submitted the best assessment of professional competence.
