POLICE have today made a special appeal for information after a Carnforth family were targeted for the second time by thieves.

The most recent offence took place overnight on Wednesday June 26 when someone approached the family’s farm on Crag Bank Road, entered the outhouse shed building and stole two trail bikes.

Only a month earlier, the same family reported the theft of several high value pieces of jewellery from their home.

Police said while the investigation was underway, the victim’s husband passed away suddenly.

PC Antony Marsh, Community Beat Manager said: “This latest offence really is a blow to the family and we’re doing all we can to reunite them with their stolen property.

“Both bikes are distinctive and have Sherco written on in yellow. One is chrome and blue and the other black and white.

“The stolen jewellery includes several pieces that the victim’s now deceased husband brought for her and hold incredible sentimental value and it’s because of this we’re so keen to trace these.

“Sadly only one piece has so far been recovered so far so I would urge anyone with any information or who may have unwittingly obtained one of these items to contact the Police by calling 101”.

The jewellery stolen includes numerous 9ct gold chains, a 9ct gold eternity ring with eight diamonds setting, 9ct gold, a 9ct gold ‘old watch style’ charm bracelet with various charms including a small boot, anchor, cross and various 9 ct gold bracelets.
