THE world premiere of the new Swallows and Amazons movie is to take place at the Theatre by the Lake, Keswick, on Sunday, July 24.
Based on Arthur Ransome's much-loved literary classic, the film tells the story of four children who dream of escaping the tedium of a summer holiday with their mother.
They get permission to camp on their own on an island in the middle of a vast lake but discover they may not be alone.

Director Philippa Lowthorpe said: "We had a wonderful time filming in Coniston and Derwentwater and are delighted that local cast and crew, who helped make this film a reality, have a chance to see the big screen adaptation before it's released in cinemas this August."
