KENDAL fell seven points adrift of table-topping Golborne in Division Four of the North West Men’s Hockey League after they were toppled 2-0 at the league leaders on Saturday.
The Greens are one point behind Rochdale and Formby Thirds in the table.
They face a double-header this weekend when they take on sixth-placed Lancaster and Morecambe Seconds on Saturday before their crucial home game against Rochdale on Sunday.
Kirkby Lonsdale had a great weekend in Division Seven North, scoring 13 times in two comfortable victories.
The league leaders hammered Liverpool Sefton Fourths 8-1 on Saturday before easing to a 5-0 success at home to Didsbury Northern Seconds on Sunday to go three points clear at the top of the table.
In Division Two North West of the North Women’s Hockey League Ulverston lost to Lytham St Annes despite the visitors only having nine players.
Lytham took their opportunities in front of goal whereas Ulverston were unable to convert their opportunities as they lost 2-0.
Kirkby Stephen were also defeated 3-1 at home to Northern Ladies as they dropped to fourth in the table.
