THE famous Oxford Dodo will visit Grasmere's Wordsworth Trust tomorrow (Friday) as part of a national tour.

The dodo set off from Land's End on Monday and aims to travel the full length of Britain, all the way to John O’Groats, in just one week, visiting museums and galleries along the way.

In a bid to celebrate the rich diversity of museum collections in the UK, the Dodo – a star specimen in the Oxford collections – will meet with star objects from every museum and gallery on the tour.

In a moment of cultural heritage exchange, the dodo will ‘interview’ these star objects for a series of Q&A articles that will be published on the museum’s blog at www.morethanadodo.com.

Heading out on the road with staff will be the dodo model from the museum’s displays; a cast of the precious head, which is the only remaining soft tissue material of a dodo in the world; and real foot bones from the same animal.
