PUPILS in years 5 and 6 at Castle Park Primary School in Kendal have been learning about World War II and bringing the era to life.
They spent Tuesday finding out about what happened on VE day and to make their learning more authentic dressed up in wartime costumes.
The children listened to Winston Churchill giving his victory speech, learnt how to dance the Lindihop, played the traditional game of ‘Pin the moustache on Hitler’ and ate fish paste sandwiches!
The day’s activities were part of the British values curriculum and was linked to the school’s UK themed week incorporating the history, geography and traditions of the nation.
