MORE than 100 grandparents went back to the classroom to join in activities at a north Lancashire school.
The bi-annual ‘Back to School for Grandparents’ event saw families join forces to solve practical problems, baking and a treasure hunt using GPS devices at Wilson’s Endowed CE School, Over Kellet.
“Grandparents are very special people and play a very important role in the lives of their grandchildren,” said headteacher Jo Williams.
“We try to cherish the grandparents and welcome them into our school for the day, sharing in the activities with the children.
“We try to get a balance of nostalgia as well as showing how schools have changed over the generations. It’s always a very busy and happy day.”
