SEVEN young Cumbrians will benefit from new apprenticeships this year thanks to £120,000 of investment from Cumbria Housing Partners.
Five apprentices, classed as NEETS, or 'not in education, employment or training', have already started work with their employers, while a further two are in the process of being recruited.
They will receive a minimum of two years’ training from various providers in Cumbria in areas where skills shortages have been identified, such as project and contract management for the construction industry, technical administration and programming.
