DALLAM School held an awards ceremony to mark the achievements of their 'truly exceptional' students.

Former Dallam head boy, Russell Cooper, presented prizes at the Senior Awards Evening.

Students were awarded prizes for exceptional achievements at A-Level and the International Baccalaureate as well as year 10, 11 and 12 students being awarded for their progress, citizenship and academic achievements.

Individual subject scholarships were awarded across year 11 as they received the best GCSE results the school has seen in many years.

The evening was an opportunity to celebrate the personal success and diversity of student achievements both in and out of school with notable performances in cross country, yachting, netball, water polo, motor racing and karting as well as literary criticism and parliamentary debate.

Headteacher William Bancroft, when addressing students, said: β€œIn schools across the country, young people such as those in front of us are doing exceptional things. Whether it is gaining a place at Oxford or Cambridge, achieving a GCSE against all the odds or working hard to support others, our students need celebrating. Without them, none of this success would be possible. They are truly exceptional and on behalf of the staff I would like to congratulate them on their achievements.”
