Looking forward to the launch tomorrow of Choose South Cumbria at The Coach House, Ford Park, Ulverston, with Founding partners of the initiative BAE Systems, GSK, Siemens, Kimberly-Clark, the NHS and Furness College.

At the launch will be Susanna Boccaccio, TV Producer as compere and video messages of support from Kevin Roberts, Executive Chairman, Saatchi & Saatchi and Helen Skelton, TV personality.

This is a new branding initiative designed to promote the enormous employment and lifestyle opportunities available in South Cumbria.

South Cumbria is one of the best places to work, live and play. While we all know this, there are many people across the UK and beyond who don’t. The region is set to witness unprecedented levels of investment through the likes of BAE Systems, GSK, and Siemens among many others, all capitalising on major growth opportunities in their sectors. This is unquestionably an exciting time and employers have recognised the need to encourage new people to the area as well as invest locally in our young people so this fantastic place achieves its full economic and social potential.

Choose South Cumbria sees career opportunities as central to the campaign, and the Choose South Cumbria brand will look to answer all the questions anyone might have about moving to the area.

Choose South Cumbria will feature a dedicated website as well a week-long virtual recruitment fair in May. The website will, for the first time, create a central hub where people can discover the career opportunities available to them, their partners and families and access the information on the things that really matter when moving to somewhere new.

The brand will also be used to lobby for improvements on everything from roads and rail networks to cyber connectivity.
