This picture was taken at Low Longmire Farm, which is near the village of Colton, to the south of Coniston and Windermere.
Lambing remains one of the biggest and busiest events in the farming calendar and can mean sleepless nights, complicated births, orphans and adoptions.
Along with daffodils, lambs are firmly part of the Lakeland scenery in spring, and bring with them the promise of warmer weather.
