Here we go again. Money has to be saved so, once more, we will take it out of Kendal (Gazette, July 23, 'Kendal Court threat fury').

With hospital and maternity services run down, the police station closed at night, ambulance control now done from Warrington, before long there will be no services left in Kendal.

It costs £241,000 to run the courts at Burneside Road which, apparently, we cannot afford, yet the town can afford to spend over twice as much - £477,000 - on a building in Highgate which has been empty for years and which will require a great deal more money being spent on it to make it even remotely useful.

If a court needs to be closed why can it not be the Barrow Court and move the cases to Kendal?
