I am writing following Mike Addison's column (Gazette, August 6, 'Making an effort to keep newspapers in business').
My wife and I retired to Kendal in 2000, and in our early days here we started buying The Westmorland Gazette, and from the onset were impressed by the variety of news and information given.
There is something to interest all sections of the community, and they only have to spend 1£ to obtain this.
We always read Mary Welsh's walk, and have had a great deal of pleasure walking many of them.
Come on people of Westmorland, support your local paper - it is well worth 1£. The old saying "If you don't use it, you will lose it" still applies.
Don't get disheartened Mike. You and the rest of the staff are doing great job.
Long live The Westmorland Gazette.
