I welcome the news that the Olympic Torch will pass through Morecambe and Lunesdale on Friday, June 22, 2012.
The torch will be carried into the constituency by members of the public at Carnforth then will travel to Bolton-le-Sands on to Hest Bank, before arriving in Morecambe.
To have the torch travel through the constituency will be incredible. Members of the public will be carrying it so it is exciting that the whole community will be involved.
It will be an historic moment to watch the torch pass homes and businesses in Morecambe and Lunesdale, bringing a slice of London 2012 Olympic Games to the area.
