I was surprised and dismayed to read your report about the proposals to alter the destination of the 42 and 42A bus service at Kendal (Gazette, July 30, ‘Buses face axe over congestion’).

Have Stagecoach thought what these proposals mean to the elderly and disabled passengers, of whom there are many?

The walk from the bus station into the town will be impossible.

I know there has been complaints regarding buses running late, but wouldn’t it be better to follow the current bus route and perhaps run every 45 minutes, instead of the current 30 minutes? Otherwise going into town under these proposals will make it impossible for many.

I have walking difficulties and would find it impossible to walk from Blackhall Road Bus Station into the town centre.

Please think again, Stagecoach!
