I am producing a very special documentary film for ITV to mark the 20th anniversary of Diana, Princess of Wales death in August 2017.

The focus of our documentary will be the day of the Princess’s funeral, but even more so her legacy and the effect she and the funeral had on Britain and the British people.

We will explore the cultural shift from a stiff upper-lipped nation to a more caring, warm and compassionate one, as evidenced in the great outpouring of public grief on the day of the funeral - the ‘Diana Moment’, if you will.

I am currently looking for people to share their memories of that tragic day and believe a number of people travelled from the Lake District area for the funeral on September 6, 1997. I am hoping such people would get in touch with me.

Finestripe Productions are a small, yet prestigious, television production company. We have made programmes for the BBC, ITV and Channel 4 in the UK and several American broadcasters. Other documentaries in our ‘The Day’ strand include The Day John Lennon Died, Bafta-nominated The Day Kennedy Died and The Day Hitler Died which aired earlier this year on ITV.
