ALTHOUGH it is fading now as it moves away from us, it's still possible to see Comet Panstarrs in the evening sky. Start sweeping the north western sky - no higher than a quartet of the way from horizon to overhead - with binoculars an hour after sunset. If you spot a gold-coloured star with a short, misty tail curving away from it to its upper right, that's the comet.
Although Panstarrs isn't as impressive as we'd hoped, it's still amazing to think we're able to see a space iceberg, just a few miles across, melting, from almost 100 million miles away!
From early April Panstarrs will be visible all night, but will be harder to find, so any clear nights next week get out there and try to spot it.
