AFTER the exciting space probe fly-by, lots of people have been asking me where they can find Pluto in the night sky. Unfortunately, although it is in our summer sky it is so faint and far away, you can only see it through a large telescope. But over the coming weekend the Moon will help you spot another fascinating world - Saturn. On Saturday night it will be to the planet's lower right, on Sunday night to its upper left. Saturn itself will look like a glowing yellow-white star.
Since the last Skywatch there have been a couple of good displays of noctilucent clouds, so it looks like we're peaking late this year. Please, on any clear night over the next two weeks, keep an eye on the northern sky after dark, just in case that long-awaited NLC storm appears.
