NETHERFIELD Cricket Club have added Greg Hall and Mark Ousby to their roster for next season.

Hall was signed from Penrith CC, who play in the North Lancashire and Cumbria Premier League, and is part of the Cumbria Under 17 setup.

The 17-year-old is currently training with Durham Academy and scored 425 runs at an average of 32.00 last season, including a century against Millom CC.

Ousby has joined from Penrith’s league rivals Appleby. The 25-year-old all rounder has played at Appleby for several years, contributing performances with bat and ball. Last season Ousby scored 450 runs and took 49 wickets at 11.67.

Netherfield captain Marc Brown was delighted with the new additions.

He said: "I am really pleased to secure the signings of Greg and Mark. They are two players that will fit in very nicely and will be key players for the first 11.

“Greg is just starting off his career and has showed a lot of promise, scoring runs opening the batting for Penrith CC.

“Mark will add strength to our batting line up and will also be a key figure with the ball.

“We are still in the market for a professional and hopefully might have some news very soon!"

Brown added that he hoped he would receive news on the pro front within the next fortnight.
