The Division One T20 finals day sponsored by Beaumont Bygones takes place at Carnforth CC’s Quarry Park on Sunday where Shireshead, Windermere, Westgate and Warton all bid for glory.
The first tie sees Warton take on Shireshead at 10am, while Westgate come up against Windermere at 1pm, with the final to follow.
Shireshead
Squad: P. Yates, P Wilson, P Oliver, D Murphy, L Parkinson, S Gould, D Wilkinson, J Rafferty, S Hilton, S Yates, D Yates, U Shah, N Rafferty
Captain’s comment – Paul Yates
“We’ve had a thoroughly enjoyable season so far and we’re looking forward to defending our title on the day. It’s great to be part of a happy dressing room where everyone is contributing and enjoying their cricket.”
Windermere
Squad: J Crawford, S Carruthers, J Cooper, O Killiner, J Park, M Park, S Fletcher, M Lewthwaite, P Bush, J Stephenson Snr, J Stephenson Jnr, S Walker, D Chapman
Captain’s comment – James Crawford
“To be in the mix on finals days is a big step forward for Windermere. Not only have we had to dig deep each week for 11 men but the lads have stepped up and shown what they are capable of. If the real Windermere turn up we’re capable of causing an upset.”
Westgate
Squad: A Hill, G Tattersall, A Arestidou, A Briggs, C Buchanan, S Creed, J Davies, S Frith, D Hannigan, M Hannigan, D Lord, R McMenamin, A Nisbet, S Patel, A Pearce, K Puffett
Captain’s comment – Andy Hill
“I think Westgate will go into finals day as the outsiders but the underdog tag is one which suits us well and we believe we can cause an upset. We are currently playing well as a team and have perhaps raised a few eyebrows having lost some key players over the last few years.”
Warton
Squad: G Finney, A Thistlethwaite, Ryan Nelson, S Mayor, D Dixon, G Crowther, Ricky Nelson, S Pemberton, J Brown, J Ralston, P Savage
Captain’s comment – Gareth Finney
“After excellent wins against Burneside and Heysham we head into finals days confident of success. The side is well-balanced and in decent form. Both Ryan Nelson and Alex Thistlethwaite are capable of winning any game with the bat and Graeme Crowther has to be one of the leagues most consistent bowlers.”
