KENDAL Ladies secured safety in the Investec National League after picking up back-to-back wins for the first time this season with a hard-fought win over Liverpool Sefton.

The game was intense from start to finish with both teams knowing how crucial the win was as Liverpool are fighting for their own league status.

Kendal battled hard and created some good play with Beth Cordukes opening the scoring with a great goal after 20 minutes.

Both teams came out strong after half time but Kendal were the better side and double their advantage through Nicola Conway.

Liverpool had a couple of chances which the defence and managed to claw back a scrappy goal when there was a scramble in the D but the final whistle brought relief for Kendal as their league status was guaranteed for another year.

Kendal have their final game of the season on Saturday against league champions Wakefield. The game is at home (KKS Astro) at 2pm.
