KENDAL boxer Luke Gudgeon pulled out all the stops to defeat Carlisle Villa hitman James Farish in a great performance at a show in Burnley.
Gudgeon, 15, who boxes for Lancaster-based Skerton Boxing Club, entertained the crowd for three rounds against 16-year-old Farish.
The youngster was dominant in all three rounds and showed his improving skills and technique to overpower and outbox his opponent.
In attendance on the evening was Kendal-based international referee Alvin Finch, who showed his support and gave Gudgeon some good technical advice before and after the bout.Gudgeon said: "It's great to have someone as experienced as Alvin and from my home town following my progress and giving me constructive advice for the future."
A return bout at Carlisle Villa's home show has been rearranged in October.
