Kendal Towns Ladies are looking forward to the new season in the North West Woman’s Regional League.

The Ladies, who begin this Sunday (September 4) with an away game at Carlisle United Ladies, have seen key players depart in Elsie Atkinson, Heather Ramsay and Faye Platt, who have all gone to university.

However, the team from The Pye Motors Stadium welcome 16-year-old Jayne Siddell to the club.

Kendal Town Ladies Player Manager Lauren Downham was delighted with the team's pre season preparations.

“The Ladies can’t wait to get started as we begin our 2016 league campaign with an away trip to Carlisle United," she said.

"While we may have lost some key players to university, they will be available for whenever they are on leave from their studies.

"With regards to new players we have signed 16-year-old Jayne Siddell. She is a player with huge potential and I look forward to seeing what she can do for the new campaign.

"At the same time we are on the lookout for extra players for the upcoming campaign and if any Ladies, aged 16 and above, would like to find out more please contact me directly on email on laurendownham@outlook.com or by mobile on laurendownham@outlook.com.

"During the pre season campaign we held a girls and women's football day at The Pye Motors Stadium. It was a fantastic event that saw 15 girls’ teams and three ladies teams attend a jam-packed day of fun, friendly and competitive matches.

"In the morning local girls teams from clubs such as Kendal United, Ibis, Wattsfield, Lancaster Giants and Dalton attended and played a trophy event. In the afternoon, Kendal Town FC Ladies team took to the pitch against Carlisle United and Islanders.

"Kentdale Jaguar sponsored the event. They brought a number of a cars down to the stadium and the players enjoyed having their photograps taken with the motors!”

After Sunday's match at Carlisle, the Ladies will host Workington on Wednesday, September 7, with the game kicking off at 6.30pm.
