Fylde closed the gap on divisional leaders Caldy to four points with this maximum points win.
Fylde made a flying start in what were ideal conditions for running rugby.
It took them almost 10 minutes to set their sights on the Bradford try line but in the next 20 they cut loose.
After nine minutes fly-half Steve Nutt moved the ball left and centre Mike Waywell doubled around to set winger Oliver Brennand free wide out. He shot past his opposite number Liam Frost and cut
back inside another three defenders to score a superb trademark try. Nutt’s attempted conversion drifted wide.
On 17 minutes, Nutt moved the ball right and Waywell slipped through the smallest of gaps to pass to Jordan Davies, playing on the wing. He made the corner despite a despairing covering tackle by a
Bees’ defender. Nutt again missed the conversion, this time from the touchline.
Ten minutes later, from a scrummage 30 metres out from the Bees’ try line, Fylde scrum-half Craig Aikman broke through the visitors’ defence and turned on the afterburners for a beautiful try. Nutt
converted well and Fylde had a 17-0 lead.
Fylde were dominating possession in the line-out and tight exchanges and the Bradford scrum was being pushed backwardss while Steve Nutt’s clever kicks caused the Bees defence all kinds of
A minute before the break Nutt extended Fylde’s lead to 20-0 with a penalty kick.
Fylde introduced new prop signing, Welsh Under 21 player Ross Davies, early in the second half. He soon made his presence felt with a muscular run up the middle, brushing tacklers off with ease.
Bradford reduced the deficit with a penalty before Fylde hit back with an attack down the right. Nutt chipped for the right corner once again with inch perfect accuracy and Jordan Davies picked up
short of the try line and plunged over. Nutt converted beautifully from the touchline and Fylde were good for their 27-3 lead.
The Fylde pack, which had been dominating matters, started to lose momentum and made mistakes as Fylde were forced to defend on their own line.
Bradford gained a late consolation try in the last minute of normal time.
Fylde have no match this weekend.
