PREMIER League Manchester United and Blackburn Rovers are among several clubs scouting out Kendal Town defender Jordan Tucker.

And with Norwich City, Leeds United, Huddersfield Town, Swindon Town and Crystal Palace also looking at midfielder Danny Rowe, it is an exciting time to be at the Lakeland Radio Stadium.

Tucker, 16, joined Town from Liverpool's academy setup in the summer while Rowe made the step up from the West Lancashire League, joining from Blackpool Wren Rovers.

And both will be hoping to perform to their best for Saturday's home FA Trophy clash with Frickley Athletic as scouts announce their intentions to be at the game.

Manager Lee Ashcroft is thrilled by the attention his side are drawing.

He said: "The squad we have at Kendal Town is, in my opinion, as strong and talented as any in the Evo Stik Premier League and I can honestly say that each and every one of the players could more than hold their own in the higher leagues.

"Seeing scouts from the likes of Manchester United, Blackburn Rovers and Leeds United following the boys is fantastic and I know for a fact that they’re keen to look at more of the Kendal Town line-up.”

Chairman Haydon Munslow echoed Ashcroft's thoughts and added: "We’d be delighted if any of our players had the chance to play at a higher level.

"We don’t want to lose any of our lads but we’d never stand in the way of them playing on a bigger stage.

"You never know, one day soon Jordan Tucker or Danny Rowe could be household names across the country and we’d love to say they once played for Kendal Town!"
