THE Bowmen of Holme were team winners at the aptly named ‘The Snowman’ open competition in Keswick on Saturday.
Carnforth’s Ian Robinson landed the compound bow trophy to get the team off to a winning start before teammate Martin Leonard of Endmoor lifted the longbow/barebow trophy.
And with a second place for Ian Wilson in the recurve trophy, the Holme shooters defeated the competition and the snowy conditions to take the overall victory.
Sunday will see archers descend on Penrith for the County Portsmouth before the Kendal Bowmen Portsmouth the following Sunday, February 19, at Queen Katherine School, Kendal.
