HOLME won the Division Two Twenty20 Final at Silverdale on Sunday in dramatic fashion, with Westgate emerging triumphant in the Division One encounter.

They took on Trimpell, who started with a 49-partnership from Baldwin and Pemberton before the former was caught in the deep off Barnes.

Varden then trapped Rawes for a golden duck but Mayor went onto 20 to put Trimpell back on a decent footing.

Waterhouse was out for a two-ball duck but Beniston added 28 to take Trimpell’s final score to 113-5 from their allotted 20 overs.

In reply Holme found runs hard to come by and they were 34-2 in the 11th over, requiring another 80 to win.

The Barnes uncle-and-nephew duo added 44 but when Varden came to the crease Holme required 36 off three overs.

He duly delivered, hitting Beniston for six off the second ball and by the last over Holme were left needing 10.

With Trimpell protecting the boundary Varden scored a single off the first ball before Bibby was caught by Pemberton.

Varden struck another maximum to make it three runs needed off three balls and a single eith each ball gave them victory with the final delivery.

Varden was awarded man of the match with 2-14 bowling and 29 not out off 11 balls with the bat.
