LEVENS A won the Rothay Bowling League for the second year running despite a 6-4 defeat to Leven Valley B.

Staveley A only managed to beat Crosthwaite 6-4 which meant Levens A got their title back.

The Staveley A team took the runners-up spot, and Coniston A finished in third place.

In Division Two, Coniston B confirmed their status as the worthy champions with a powerful display at Burneside B, winning 8-2 and at the same time subjecting the home side to the wooden spoon for this season.

The struggle for the other promotion place was resolved when Hawkshead A produced a 10-0 victory at home against Lower Holker B which the other contenders were unable to match, so they finished as runners-up.

ONLY one point separates Netherfield A and Warton A going into the last game of the season, which will decide who takes the overall South Westmorland Seniors title.

In third place with 99 points are Silverdale A.

Heversham A and Victoria A have both been relegated to Division Two.

Holme A lead the way in Division Two with 99 pts, with Kirkby Lonsdale second and Ingleborough A third. Staveley A and Bowness A have been relegated.

Springfield A top Division Three with 120 points while relegation is between Burneside B, Lindale B and Milnthorpe B, while Allithwaite, Springfield B and Endmoor B are jostling for promotion from Division Four.

THE Kendal and District Bowling League produced a cliff hanger of a week as the final promotion and relegation places were fought for.

Division One leaders Holme A remained dominant to the end, winning away at Lower Holker A 8-2 to finish 14 points clear of their nearest rivals and last year’s winner KA Hale A.

Allithwaite A won promotion to Division One after jumping from fourth to second in the final week. Burton lost 8-2 at Levens B while Lindale A lost to Allithwaite, which means Allithwaite A won their promotion with winners Victoria A.

Kirkby Lonsdale were clear from the rest of the field in Division Three and are promoted with Ambleside B, while Hawkshead and Allithwaite B headed Division Four.
