KENDAL Cricket Club have announced the signing of New Zealand international batsman Jamie How for the 2014 season.

The 32-year-old – who has played 19 Test Matches for his country – will return to Kendal for a third spell after spending the summers of 2011 and 2012 at Shap Road.

With four centuries and six half-centuries to his name, How – currently playing List-A cricket in his native New Zealand – scored 1060 runs during his last stint at the club.

The right-handed batsman made his One Day International against Sri Lanka in December 2005 with his maiden Test Match appearance against the West Indies following three months later.

In 2008, as the Black Caps chased a massive 340 against England in Napier, How scored a 116-ball 139 in a tied One Day International.

Test Match highlights include a fluent 92 against England in March 2008 while his second innings total of 68 at Lord’s a couple of months later laid the foundation for a drawn clash.

Earlier this year, with a score of 222 from 138 deliveries How became the joint-second highest scorer in List-A cricket history.
