DAVE Foster’s Kendal Town lost their opening fixture of pre-season as Conference North newcomers AFC Fylde ran in four goals at Parkside Road.
Adam Sumner and Richie Allen scored for the Coasters before Mark Jackson – returning to the club from Skelmersdale United – halved the deficit.
Both managers used the clash to cast their eye over a number of trialists, with two finding the net for the visitors to complete the scoring in the second period.
Captained by Warren Beattie, Kendal’s matchday squad included new signings Danny Wisdom and Jackson as well as former winger Isaac Kusaloka who played for Prescot Cables last season.
