It was another eventful weekend in the Baines Bagguley Penhale North Lancashire & District Football League.

In the Premier Division the clash between sixth place Cartmel and District and seventh place Highgrove turned up a surprise as Highgrove claimed a 2-0 home win.

That win takes Highgrove to within just one point of Cartmel in the league.

Several teams took part in the Black Dragon Senior Challenge Cup.

Most notably, Lancaster Rovers recorded a 4-3 win away at Ingleton.

The sides could not be separated until the final few minutes of extra time when a late winner from Michael Reghilini broke Ingleton hearts.

In Division 1 Grange recorded their first three points of the season by recording a shock victory over Bolton-le-Sands.

Twelfth placed Grange ran out eventual 3-2 winners thanks to two strikes from Tom Woodburn.

There was no shock when Arnside suffered at the hands of top placed Mayfield United.

The final score of 4-2 did not flatter sixth placed Arnside, who were unlucky to catch striker Anthony McClusky on a great day as he netted a hat trick.

Returning to the Black Dragon Cup, Kirkby Lonsdale took part in a thriller against Wanderers.

In a game that ebbed and flowed, Kirkby eventually came out on top as they won 5-4 thanks to two from Oliver Blackburn.

Elsewhere, Heysham came out on the wrong side of a 4-3 result against Carnforth Rangers Reserves.

Two goals from Malakye Brooks sealed it for Carnforth.

In Division Two Morecambe Royals thrashed Burton by six goals to two with six different scorers getting on the score sheet.

That win takes Morecambe into sixth place with 14 points separating them from the promotion places.

Division Three saw Carnforth Rangers A suffer badly at the hands of a merciless Highgrove Reserves side.

The final score was a humiliating 8-1 to the away team with three separate scorers bagging a brace each.

Highgrove are currently second in the league but Carnforth are comfortably mid table.

This result emphasises the gulf in class between the league leaders and all the other sides.

In Division Four Arnside Reserves won 4-1 against Westgate.

James Barr scored two and that win takes Arnside into joint top spot with Britannia on 24 points.

Eleventh placed Carnforth Rangers Youth drew 3-3 with Heysham Reserves.

This was a good result for Carnforth who have only amassed three points all season.
