THE Bluefin Westmorland Football League returned after the Christmas break in a high scoring afternoon of action throughout all four divisions.

In Division One goals from Lewis Renvoise and Jamie Cranston helped Kirkoswald beat Carvetti United 2-1 to maintain their position at the summit, three points clear of Keswick, who remain in the hunt thanks to a comfortable 6-1 win at Windermere.

Elsewhere Kendal United suffered a 3-0 reverse at Sedbergh while Kendal County's Reserves ran out comfortable 7-1 winners away at basement club Ambleside United Reserves.

Dean Sill bagged four goals while Sam Cooper grabbed a hat-trick and Jay Turner got himself on the scoresheet.

Appleby made in seven wins out of seven in a 4-2 win over Wetheriggs United thanks to a Gordon Addison brace and goals from John Coward and Liam Dent whilst Lunesdale United picked up their fourth victory of the season in a 5-3 thriller at Penrith Reserves.

In Division Two, Unisun remain top thanks to a 2-0 home win over Endmoor KGR, whilst four goals by Dean Gaskell and a Lee Collins effort saw Keswick Reserves to a 5-2 win over Shap.

Coniston and Ibis played out a 2-2 draw, Staveley United won 5-3 at Langwathby United and Braithwaite ran out 9-1 victors at Wetherigg United Reserves.

Division Three saw Kendal United Reserves stick five past Windermere Reserves thanks to a Mark Barnes Davies brace and goals from Joe Gordon, James Pattison and Nick Crierie.

Efforts from Mike Wilson and Tyler Park saw Burneside Reserves climb to joint top after a 2-0 win over then leaders Greystoke while Ibis Reserves lost 2-1 at home to Appleby Reserves and Lunesdale United Reserves defeated Dent 3-1 at Maurice Park.

In Division Four, Carleton Banks ran riot over bottom club Penrith Saints in a 15-2 win, whilst Ullswater United won 5-2 at Dent.

There were also wins for Eamont Rovers and Border City, who beat Penrith Academy and Greystoke Reserves respectively.
