KIRKBY Lonsdale Motor Club and Morecambe Car Club have joined forces to promote a unique 'double header' event next month.

The Little Devils Tests, organised by KLMC, sees competitors in classic and modern cars tackle 15 special tests, starting and finishing at the Punch Bowl at Low Bentham on Saturday August 14.

On the same evening is the Morecambe Road Rally, one of the most popular events on the north west motorsport calendar, which starts and finishes at the same venue.

Morecambe's regular Clerk of the Course Ashley Hodge has taken a back seat this year, with Carnforth road rally driver Dan Willan taking over the reins.

"The event will retain its usual pre-plot format that Ashley has worked so hard on," said Dan.

"And it wouldn't be the Morecambe without at least 15 miles of whites, along with one or two new bits of road.

"The entries have been capped at 40 and the list is filling fast, so I'd advise anyone wanting to enter to get their forms in fast!"

Those already committed to taking part include Pete Tyson/Neil Harrison (MIni), Alex Willan/Ali Proctor (Proton), Tony Harrison/Martyn Taylor (Proton).

The rally has a new sponsor this year in the form of the New Inn at Wray, with support from C & M motors, Galgate, Alan Stephenson Coaches and Armstrong Builders, Bentham.

Competitors tackling the Little Devils Tests Entries need to be members of Eden Valley MC, Morecambe CC, Furness & District MC, Wigton MC, Ilkley & District MC or Kirkby Lonsdale MC.
