WATER polo hotshot Glen Robinson is aiming high.

The Kendal teenager has set his sights firmly on securing a place in the Great British Water Polo squad for the London Olympics.

Glen, who plays for Lancaster, one of Britain's top water polo sides, has already been selected for the England Youth squad and recently returned from a tour of Malta where they played various local and Italian club sides as well as the 1987 Maltese national squad.

Slamming in nine goals during the course of the tour was a further confidence booster for Glen.

Regular training camps at Millfield School, Somerset and at Walsall, are supplemented by a rigorous fitness schedule based on Kendal Leisure Centre's gym and swimming pool.

"I am really enjoying using the new Cybex equipment at the leisure centre," he said.

Recreation officer Paul Morgan said the centre was delighted to assist and added: "There is a very real chance that Glen will compete in the 2012 Olympics. We are immensely proud to continue supporting his achievements and wish him every success."
