CUMBRIA Masters hockey team were narrow losers in a match played against Scotland Thistles at Sheepmount Complex, Carlisle.
Players on both sides were all over 60 years of age - with two of the Cumbria side aged 74 and 76.
The game was very competitive and played in an excellent spirit.
Scotland just edged it and ran out 1-0 winners, converting a chance with a well-taken goal 15 minutes from the end.
The return fixture will take place at Glasgow Green where the Commonwealth Games Hockey was played earlier this year.
