MANCHESTER LADIES 0 KENDAL WASPS 62

Kendal Wasps thrashed Manchester Ladies this week as they continued their unbeaten run.

Tries in the first half came from Hayley Hodgson, Nessa Temple, Kerry Proctor and Abby Bland and after the break Tanya Bushell, Laura Mason and Naomi Boorman all got themselves on the scoreboard while Temple completed her hat-trick and Bland added to her tally.

The Wasps started the game in fine form, going through several phases and threatening on a couple of occasions but a desperate Manchester defence kept them out. Eventually, the pressure took its toll and Hodgson scored out wide.

Temple was next on the score sheet, again after good phase play from the Kendal forwards.

Proctor added a well worked forwards try when she barged over from close range.

Bland then broke through from close range to score before Temple rounded off the first half, adding her second try of the game.

The second half was a similar story to the first with Kendal controlling the game and keeping Manchester pinned in their own half.

Bushell scored a fine scrum half try when she broke from half way and ran in under the posts.

Straight from kick off Temple completed her hat trick after a typical break from deep and beating several defenders on her way to the try line. Bland added her second of the game from close range before Mason flopped on a loose ball to swag her first try of the season. The final try was scored by Boorman after a sweeping backs move and great work from Fleur Stanton.

This was a very good performance from the Wasps, controlling the game from start to finish.

The Wasps will now look to maintain their unbeaten start to the season at home to Birkenhead Park next who are second in the table.
