KENDAL lock-forward Joe Robinson stormed over for a brace of tries that set up a damatic last-gasp 35-34 win over London and the South-East at the Under-18 Festival at Broadstreet RFC near Coventry.

Sedbergh School student Robinson advertised his chance of an England Under-18 call-up with his strong display as the North trailed 15-3 at the interval, and despite closing the gap to two points, then saw it stretched to 16 when London scored two tries in as many minutes.

But the North came back and it was Robinson who took the plaudits as he set up the narrow victory by crossing the whitewash twice in the last ten minutes.

The North's fly-half Ed Hainsworth kicked the conversion for the second of the tries to clinch the breathless one-point victory.

Kendal RUFC entertain National 2 North second-from-bottom Rugby Lions at Mint Bridge today (2pm kick-off), with an unchanged starting line-up from last week' wide-margin win over Manchester.
