UPDATE: Woman hurt in Heaves car crash

AN ELDERLY Kendal woman has been taken to hospital following a collision on the A590.
The 74-year-old was behind the wheel of her red Toyota when she was involved in a collision with a white Fiat van at 9.40am this morning, near the turn off to Heaves Hotel.
A police spokesman said the woman had been taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary with "serious but not life threatening" injuries. The driver of the van was not hurt.
Slow traffic and partially blocked due to accident on A590 both ways between Force Lane and A591 / Nannypie Lane. Reports suggest lane two is blocked in both directions.
