Beyond the classroom

St Bees School has an excellent reputation for top class extra curricular provision. With over fifty different activities to choose from we offer our pupils the chance to try out many new and stimulating experiences. We endeavor to educate the whole person and so the sporting, musical and dramatic life of the School is seen as a core part of the St Bees School experience.

The School enjoys success in a wide range of sporting disciplines with many pupils going on to represent the county and even their country. The St Bees School site extends to over 150 acres and facilities include a swimming pool, golf course, golf practice greens, squash and tennis courts, multi-gym, indoor sports hall and the most northerly Eton Five courts in the country.

There are a wealth of opportunities for pupils to develop their creative skills through music, art, drama, creative writing and musical theatre. Our wide range of choral and instrumental ensembles, plays, musicals and concerts offer pupils the opportunity to perform in public and develop their sometimes hidden talents.

Relationships at all levels are outstanding and pupils make friends easily. Willingness to participate in all aspects of school life is evident throughout. Teamwork is a significant strength of the school, both amongst pupils themselves and between staff and pupils. Younger pupils see the older ones as role models.
